AP Macroeconomics

Assignments

30-Nov-2019

As explained in class and via Remind, you need to keep up with questions at end of modules (as we go, NOT day before test), Clifford worksheets (distributed toward the beginning of each unit), Clifford's Ultimate Review Packet (online - we set that up months ago), etc.

College Board MC and FRQs were opened a few days ago and due by 9pm Sunday (01-Dec) evening.

FRQs: on my end it looks like you post images of your FRQ responses; bring the hard copy to class, too.

MC: I believe it's 21 questions.

DID YOU KNOW? The resources for Unit 2 (HINT: See Resources Page) are REALLY helpful...but only if you use them.

28-Oct-2019

Please work on the following today:

  1. Jacob Clifford videos for Unit 2, starting with SUMMARY (23m) - take clearly-labeled notes.
  2. Complete ?s at and of Module 11 (10 should be done already).

If someone wants to sign in on teacher PC and use projector to show entire class the SUMMARY video, that'd be swell. Be sure to turn off projector and log out when you're done.

18-Oct-2019

If you are delighted with your grade, keep doing what you're doing; if not, something's gotta change. Listen to Einstein.

Today in class:

  • Working in pairs, read pp 88-102, then
  • Complete all questions on pp 92-93 - due Monday.
  • Watch any/all Clifford videos for Unit 1 from the playlist I posted weeks ago on the Resources page that you haven't already viewed.
  • This completes module 9/Section 1.

HW:

  • Read Module 10 and
  • Complete everything through p112 - due Monday.
  • Watch the Clifford video on the Circular Flow Matrix.
  • Start on the Clifford videos for Unit 2 from the playlist I posted weeks ago on the Resources page.
  • Start on the relevant parts of the Ultimate Review Packet (online)

Ensure work is clearly labeled in your notebook or on separate paper.

07-Oct-2019

HW: Indiana Jones w/s, read rest of Section 2, Clifford w/s

Next class: score FRQ from today, Indiana Jones w/s, Clifford w/s (if you have ?s), resume PPTs

As of today, your tests are on the 14th and 17th (16th is T day for PSATs). Probably going to flip: FRQ on day 1, MC on day 2.

Standing Assignment: your test reading should be a module ahead of where we are; ideally, you've read entire section that we're in.

19-Sep-2019

Please sign in on attendance sheet.

Please use the class period to work on the following:

  • Read text through module 4
  • Clifford worksheets 1.2 and 1.3 in the packet I gave you days ago
  • Clifford videos on Unit 1 topics (see Resources page, URP, and/or search YouTube on your own)
  • Clifford practice in URP
  • Questions at end of modules
  • REALLY know vocab - use flashcards or whatever works for you

See you Friday!

04-Sep-2019

WELCOME! I am excited to teach AP Macro after teaching a similar course for the past three years. For those with AP experience, College Board made a LOT of changes which we will explore together.

There is not a big homework load in this course, but you do have two assignments (yes, on the first day). They are graded and due Wednesday (04-Sep) night by 9pm.

Read them all first, then go back to #1 and complete them.

ASSIGNMENT 1:

SIGN UP FOR REMIND FOR YOUR CLASS

1) Install FREE Remind appIf you already have the app and a working account, go to step 3 below.

2) Set up your Remind account.

3) Join the correct class using the codes below. This should take under 1 minute (if you already have the app or insist on using the text version of Remind) to 5 mins (if you have to start from scratch and install the app). If you are not sure what class you are in, check your schedule or come see me after school for assistance.

Per 5: @phsapmacro

NOTE: The Remind app is quicker, has more features, and is more reliable than text. Sometimes extra credit "specials" are sent via Remind so failure to check can cost you points!

4) Set Remind notifications to persistent (click here for instructions for iPhone).

5) Remember...

YOU ARE 100% RESPONSIBLE FOR READING
ALL
REMIND NOTIFICATIONS.

ASSIGNMENT 2:

COMPLETE STUDENT INFO SURVEY, THEN REVIEW SYLLABUS, GRADING POLICY, AND RELEVANT HANDBOOK PAGES WITH PARENT/GUARDIAN.

1) Complete this Google form/survey. Should take about 5-7 minutes depending on how fast you read/type.

2) Read/review course syllabus with parent/guardian so everyone knows what's expected. If you have questions, ask via Remind or the next time you see me in person.

3) Read/review Grading Policy page.

4) By now you should have read the PHS Student Handbook. The link to the latest version of this document is under IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS on the right side of this page. Be sure to read the 2nd bullet point at the bottom of page 26 and other info on makeup work, exams, attendance, etc. work, exams, etc.
